In 1975 we designed and built our first semi-submersible, then named Viking Piper but today operating as Castoro 7.
DSS series
In the early 1980’s the DSS series of Drilling Semi-Submersibles was developed. The DSS units are marketed together with KFels of Singapore, and to date 8 units have been built or are under construction.
The first unit - delivered in 2003 - was the Maersk Explorer, operating in the Caspian Sea.
The units are characterized by the box deck structure with a Vertical Riser Storage in front of the derrick.

OCEAN series
Based on the experience gained with the TDS and DSS series, we then designed the proprietary designs of the OCEAN class.
These semi-submersibles are being marketed worldwide to drilling contractors and shipyards. The arrangements of the hull are kept such that an efficient layout and optimum routing of piping systems and electric cables is achieved. The Vertical Riser Storage and an efficient derrick system result in a large free deck area. These units are suited for exploration and development drilling.
